Super Cheap Flights From Phoenix to Cancun

Have you been wanting to get out of the country? Cancun and Puerto Vallarta are great places to visit.

Currently, United is flying out of Phoenix into Cancun for $206! That is only $103 one way to go south of the border.

To shop the best dates I recommend using Google Flights. When you click on the calendar it will show you the dates with the cheapest price. Select PHX to CUN and choose your preferred dates. If you want to go to Puerto Vallarta there are flights out of Phoenix for as cheap as $269. That is a really good deal as this flight is typically $400 +.

First, is Mexico safe? High traffic vacation areas in Mexico are no more dangerous than large cities of the USA. I have been to Mexico around 10 times in the last 5 years and have never felt nervous or scared. Be aware of your surroundings and use common sense, you will be a-okay.

Do I need my passport to go to Mexico? Yes, you must have your passport book. The passport card is only good for land and sea travel. For international air travel you need the book because it has pages for your visas to be stamped. The book is $110 and takes about 4-6 weeks door to door.

In addition to those super cheap flights, hotels in Mexico are fairly affordable. You have to decide if you want to stay at an all inclusive resort or if you prefer to do your own thing. All inclusives will be more expensive but you won’t have to worry about food or drink.

Check out the Marriott CasaMagna in Cancun. If you go to you can find it for as cheap as $151 a night.

Another great hotel option is the Sheraton Buganvillas in Puerto Vallarta, only $84 a night at Amoma!

Ever though about renting a house or condo? There are many sites that host listings for condos, townhomes, and villas. This option is great if you like to have your own space and it works even better if you can bring another couple or family with you. This two bedroom condo on is only $900 for 4 nights. Keep in mind it sleeps six and is two bed, two bath. If you can split the $900 with somebody else, that is only $450 per family, so roughly $112 a night. Having your own kitchen will help you save money in eating out as well.
