American Express rolled two solid offers for their Hilton Hotels credit card. You get to pick your poison, choose between 60,000 points or 50,000 + $50 as a statement credit.

– 5x points on all purchases at U.S restaurants, supermarkets and gas stations
– 3x points on all other purchases

To Apply for the 60k point offer, follow this link. To sign up for the 50k points + $50 cash, you will just visit Hilton.com and make a mock booking. On the final page where you would confirm the booking, you will see the link to the offer in the bottom right. If you need help meeting you minimum spend, you can pay your mortgage or landlord using a credit card on Plastiq.com.
Hilton points are typically worth a lot less than many other hotel loyalty points. However, keep in mind that this card has no annual fee, a very low minimum spend ($750), and automatic silver status. You could stay one night at the Hilton in midtown Manhattan for 60k points. If you wanted to stretch your points a bit more, you could stay two nights at the DoubleTree in downtown Atlanta.
If you’d like to shop hotels based on the points needed per free night, I would check out AwardMapper. Select the hotel chain and use the sliders to select your point range. Keep in mind that Hilton hotels can have varying redemption rates based on seasons. Off season may be 10k-20k points-per-night less compared to peak season.
Last point I’ll touch on, you do not pay taxes on hotel stays when you redeem your points. If a normal paid stay is $120 + $20 in taxes, you just saved $140 by using your points. Keep that in mind when comparing the cash price of the stay versus the points required.
