Delta Award Flight Sale to South America – Starting at 50,000 Miles R/T this Summer and Fall – 48 Hour Window

Great news if you have some Delta SkyMiles to burn. This Summer and Fall you can head south for as little as 50,000 SkyMiles during this 48 hour award sale. (must book by April, 19th, 2017)

Eligible countries:

• Peru
• Chile
• Brazil
• Argentina

Suggested Cities:

Buenos Aires
Sao Paulo
Rio de Janeiro

Unfortunately, Delta does not publish an award chart, a shady move to be frank. Without an award chart, we don’t have a baseline for what these award flights “should” cost. Based on checking a number of itineraries, it appears that Delta requires about 70,000 – 95,000 SkyMiles to fly from the US to the lower-half of South America.

During this 48 hour sale, you can fly to any of these four countries for as little as 50,000 SkyMiles, however it looks like most flights are priced around 55,000-70,000 SkyMiles. Still, not terrible for SkyMiles standards.

Atlanta to Buenos Aires, Argentina round-trip during sale

Los Angeles to Santiago, Chile round-trip during sale

I don’t recommend burning 50,000 or more of your SkyMiles to visit Peru. You can use this United positioning trick to visit Peru for very few points with good availability. (Peru is considered northern South America by United)

Make sure to check your desired destination’s visa requirements before booking (IE: Brazil)
