If you’ve hoarded American Express Membership Rewards points, now is a good time to off-load them. You have until 9/17/17 to transfer to British Airways or Iberia Avios programs with a 40% bonus.
To do the simple math, you will just multiply your Amex MR transfer amount by 1.4x, that will give your transferred total. If this bonus wasn’t sweet-enough, the points transfer INSTANTLY! 10,000 MR points = 14,000 Avios
New to British Airways Avios? You can create a free British Airways Executive Club Loyalty account and link it to American Express to start the transfer. (on www.americanexpress.com, click ‘explore rewards’, then ‘transfer’)
Hawaii for 8,950 points one-way
West Coast travelers can catch a non-stop to Hawaii for only 8,950 Membership Rewards points, once converted to British Airways Avios with a 40% bonus. You’ll only need to redeem 12,500 Avios for a NON-STOP from the West Coast to Hawaii on either American Airlines or Alaska Airlines.
Read my earlier write-up which details how to find award space and redeem these 12,500 Avios non-stops to Hawaii from West Coast cities. Fees are only $5.60 each direction.
Europe for 9,300 points one-way
Would you be interested in flying non-stop to Dublin, Ireland? What if you only needed to transfer as few as 9,300 American Express MR points to do so? (w/ 40% bonus)
If you are an East Coast flyer, you can redeem 13,000 Avios for a OFF-PEAK non-stop on Aer Lingus to Dublin, Ireland, or if flying from New York, Shannon, Ireland. Fees range from $50-$70 in each direction, which is not bad at all for international award travel.
West Coast and Florida travelers will need to transfer just over 12,000 MR points to net 16,250 Avios. That will give you enough Avios for an OFF-PEAK one-way from SFO, LAX, MIA, or MCO to Dublin.

Green dates are OFF-PEAK when redeeming British Airways Avios for flights on Aer Lingus.
